Why Psychotherapy?

Individuals pursue psychotherapy or counselling for many different reasons. They may wish to develop their qualities and potential and embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth or they may have emotional issues that they wish to resolve.

In particular, people come into therapy when they are grappling with issues such as:

  • Feeling low or stuck

  • Experiencing a loss, such as bereavement, divorce or redundancy

  • Feeling anxious or depressed

  • Having health issues

  • Looking for personal growth

  • Trapped in destructive patterns of behaviour

  • Dealing with unresolved issues.

Working with a trained therapist offers an opportunity to explore whatever issues you are facing within a safe, structured and supportive environment, without fear of judgement. The personal growth that therapy facilitates can free you from the limitations of old, destructive patterns, and may provide you with effective ways of improving the quality of your life, your relationships, and your sense of self.
